I've been playing with Twitter and Identi.ca lately - followed a lot of people that are local to me and I've found the conversations interesting for the most part. However, the constant flood of information proved to be too interruptive, especially when I was at work. I am also playing with identi.ca with gwibber as a client and it is not that interruptive for me, since all the post are shown as notification bubbles which I can easily ignore (and that is what I do in most of the cases). But I could live very well without it, I microblog myself rarely.
